It’s that time of year again! That’s right. It’s time to go to a tailgate party! What exactly is a tailgate party anyway? A tailgate party is a party typically held in a stadium during a sporting event, around the open tailgate of a vehicle (usually a pickup). Many people bring along a BBQ grill and have a blast enjoying the atmosphere of the sporting event and the delicious food. These tailgate parties can be held during any type of sporting event, but are a big deal during football season, which is in full swing right now. Oftentimes people will bring a television along so that they are able to watch the game from their car while enjoying the tasty food from the grill.
Tailgate and the Best Food to Cook While Tailgating
Here’s the thing though Tailgaters love their tailgate parties, they love their traditions and they are very serious about them. You will find the same delicious food prepared over and over again, and they don’t want anyone messing with those traditions. That being said, many people are happy to share the fun of tailgate parties. Not only will many tailgaters invite you into their parties, but many more are happy to share with you the best tips for those wanting to tailgate and the best food to cook while tailgating.
Best Tips for Those Wanting to Tailgate
Make a list. You do not want to forget to bring anything to your tailgate party, because, let’s face it, it’s not like you can leave your spot to run and grab your forgotten items. You’ve parked in a stadium before, I’m sure, and it’s hard to find a spot to park. You don’t want to lose it!
Pack a good cooler. A good cooler can make all the difference in your tailgate party. You don’t want your food going bad, you need them to stay cold until it was time to cook them.
Bring a grill. For a true tailgate party with delicious food, you need to bring along a grill. A small grill that will fit in the back of your vehicle will work just fine. Or, if you really want to go all out, bring the same grill that you use at home. As long as it runs off of propane or charcoal, you don’t have to worry about not having a power receptacle to plug into.
Use Handi-Foil Disposable Cookware. We are big fans of easy cleanup and Handi-Foil is awesome for that. Not only does Handi-foil mean cleanup is easy, but the cookware is well made and you don’t have to worry about the foil breaking or leaking while you are cooking.
Best Food to Cook While Tailgating
Burgers. Everyone loves grilling burgers, don’t they? Did you know that you don’t have to prep burgers on the grill? You can save the mess and actually save the burgers from being burned when you use a Handi-Foil pan such as the Extra Deep Super King™ Roaster Pan to cook the burgers. Just make the patties and arrange them inside of the pan, placing the pan on the grill. The burgers will stay juicy and delicious!
Ribs. Ribs are one of the absolute best party foods out there and this definitely goes for tailgate parties! You simply cannot throw ribs on a grill though, especially when tailgating because that just gets too messy and without a kitchen nearby, this isn’t an option. You need to use cookware for the best, juiciest, sauciest ribs! My favorite Handi-Foil product to use for ribs like this is the Extra Deep Super King™ Roaster Pan . Do you cook your ribs in a sauce? The tall walls on this pan help to keep the sauce from splashing out and making a mess.
Nachos. Nachos aren’t on your typical BBQ menu, but when you use Handi-Foil cookware, you can make some seriously delicious nachos while tailgating. Want to know how? Grab your Extra Deep Super King™ Roaster Pan and fill it with tortilla chips. Top the chips with some pre-cooked crumbled ground beef (or whatever your choice of meat is), shredded cheese, and olives. Wrap the pan with foil and place it on the grill, cooking until the cheese it melted. Be sure to have sour cream and salsa chilling in the cooler to top your nachos with. YUM!!
