Cocoa Fudge Cake

Fudge Cake

 1 cup butter or margarine
 5 ¾ cups packed brown sugar
 4 eggs
 5 ½ tsp vanilla
 ¾ cup unsweetened cocoa
 1 tsp baking soda
 3 cups sifted cake flour
 1 cup sour cream
 3 ⅔ cups boiling water

Heat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease and flour (3) 8" round cake pans.

Cream butter. Add brown sugar and eggs, beat on high with mixer until light and fluffy about 15 minutes.

Turn mixer to low and add vanilla, cocoa, and baking soda. Then alternately add flour and sour cream and mix until smooth.

Pour in boiling water, stir with a spoon until blended. The batter will be very loose.

Pour into pans and bake 30-40 minutes or until done. Cool and frost with your favorite frosting.
