Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Sift dry ingredients together. Mix egg, shortening, and milk together thoroughly.
Combine mixtures, stirring just enough to dampen flour.
Mix cranberries and 2 tbsp. sugar together and fold into muffin mixture. Grease muffin pan. Fill 2/3 full and bake 25 minutes or until done.
